I’m sure most of us will agree, there is nothing better than scrubbing ourselves top to toe and leaving ourselves with silky smooth skin. There is a huge selection of exfoliators and scrubs to choose from but over the past year coffee scrubs seem to have taken over! We all know the benefits of using a coffee scrub. I mean it helps reduce the appearance of cellulite and stretch marks and is the perfect skin exfoliator and makes the perfect bathroom selfie.
Would it surprise you to hear that you really don’t have to rush out to Boots and splurge £20+ on a coffee scrub from off the shelf? Put your purse away sweetie! Today I’m going to share with you a super easy recipe for making your own scrub at home. It’s just as good as what you’d buy from the shop and at a fraction of the price!
What you’ll need
- Coffee grounds
- Sugar or sea salt
- Coconut oil
- Storage jar
- Dry brush (optional)
How to make the scrub
Pour 300g coffee grounds and 50g brown sugar / sea salt into a mixing bowl.
Melt 6 tbsp of coconut oil and add to your mixture. Make sure you mix the oil in well.
If you want you can add in some optional extras such as: Cocoa, cinnamon, vanilla or peppermint essence. – These will just add scents to your scrub, so don’t worry too much if you haven’t got any of these!
When you are finished, transfer your scrub in an airtight container such as a mason jar. The scrub should keep for several months. If it separates just remix.
And it’s that simple! What DIY beauty products do you like to make?
