Before we start I’ll answer a few of your questions. Yes I’m doing a review of a product designed for men. Why the judgement? Ok so this actually wasn’t something intentional. Not long ago I ran out of all my moisturisers, how that happened I do not know. I had thousands of different ones but *poof* they all vanished. So my only option at half 10 at night was to use Spence’s or go without.
Spence has a drawer full of products that gives my collection a run for it’s money so I knew I’d have plenty of choice. Saying that, I was already in bed and knackered so I just reached for whatever was on his bedside table and it just happened to be the L’Oreal Men Expert Vita Lift 5 Daily Moisturiser.
First impressions of the product was that the packaging is pretty smart. It’s a neat little size and fits nicely in your hand. The product is dispensed using a pump which I quite like as easy and practical. I do however wish there was a bit more control over the pump. I was hoping one-pump would give you the perfect pea-sized amount for your face when actually one pump over loads you with product. This is probably me being super picky and is only a small, tiny issue in the grand scheme of things.
The Vita Lift 5 Moisturiser itself smells gorgeous, in fact I found it quite comforting. I can’t describe it any other way apart from it just smells like man. Not yucky, sweaty, just-got-off-the-football-pitch man, but clean and well groomed, gorgeous man.
The product isn’t greasy at all and absorbs into your skin so well. It almost leaves a powdery texture to your face, leaving a matte finish rather than that dewy glow you get after applying most moisturisers. I suppose being targeted at men, they don’t necessarily want their face glistening like a unicorn so massive thumbs up from me for the finish of this product!
Having used the L’Oreal Vita Lift 5 Daily Moisturiser for a while now (yes I still haven’t gone out to replace any of my skincare) I have to say, I’m pretty much in love. I would 100% recommend this product as it’s so fantastic and really reasonably priced. You can pick it up for £14 from Boots. This product goes on 3 for 2 a lot so I’d suggest getting some other products in the Vita Lift 5 range. If they’re even half as good as this it’ll be a collection worth re-purchasing time and time again. Actually come to think of it, I’m sure I bought this for Spence at Christmas. No wonder why I like it so much…
Anyway, have you ever tried any unexpected products that you’ve fallen in love with? Let me know, I’d love to discover more!
