Staying Positive While Blogging

Staying Positive While Blogging

I always try my best to be good and not moan, but let’s face it. It can be tough. Sometimes you can be so busy you almost forget to breathe, and right now I’m definitely falling into that trap. A combination of work, blogging, family and my social life has left me in the little world of limbo. Some days I think I can concur the world, and others I can’t bare to drag my backside out of bed.

Let’s face it, we all know life isn’t one big up. It’s pretty much a rollercoaster that throws you up and down, around and around, and you know what – I’m ok with that. The ‘downs’ in life make me appreciate the highs even more. Although even with that appreciation it doesn’t always make dealing with the downs, the lows, any easier. After all these years I’ve learned when to worry and when not to worry. At least, that was before I fell into the blogging world.

Anyone who doesn’t blog will wonder what the hell there is to worry about. Why stress over nothing? But anyone who blogs, or has done in the past will know it comes with it’s pressures and stresses. Yes we love it, we wouldn’t do it if we didn’t, but it isn’t all smiles and happy faces 24/7.

Recently I’ve found blogging to be quite negative. It can be a pressurised environment, where we are somewhat pitched against each other, usually based on numbers, and I can’t log onto Twitter nowadays without reading some form of blogger drama. If you’re not comparing yourself to another blogger, you’re stressing over lacking photography skills, or wondering why no bugger read the post you spent ages on.

I’m not going to lie to you; the good bits of blogging are amazing, and these hands down outweigh the negatives. I’ve always been, and always will be, so appreciative of all the opportunities I receive through my blog and social channels, but it’s also only human to get caught up in these moans and groans every once in a while.

That right there is where I want to encourage the positivity and share a little extra love. As a community I believe we need to support one another and really shout about something if we love it. We need to comment more, talk about our favourite blog posts and give our favourite and most loved bloggers a bigger pat on the back.

Personally, receiving comments or post shares has given me that boost I’ve needed in the past. When I’ve felt down and almost like giving up, someones encouragement and support – usually someone I don’t even know, has been the thing that’s picked me up and made me feel strong again. To anyone that’s liked, shared or commented on any of my posts / tweets / Instagram photos – thank you. You really have no idea how much your kind words have meant at times. Sometimes we just need a little boost to get back from negative vibes.

Recently, I’ve tried to be a better, happier blogger, and spread more positivity. It amazes me, day after day, how people can be so nice online, and when they’ve taken the time to say something lovely, I want to appreciate that and share some positivity back.
